Therapeutic exercise is such an important aspect in the physiotherapy field as it has been scientifically proved that it has both physiological and mental health benefits. Some of these health benefits are restoring the body from injury, restoring and maintaining functional and normal movement patterns, improving strength and range of movement, maintaining and improving physical performance and overall body function. Some of the non-physical benefits of exercise include a reduction in stress, and anxiety, improvement in mood and quality of sleep.
