ITHACA PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTRE

About us

  • The centre has been founded by two sisters with one common goal and that is to help as many people as possible reach their maximum potential in health and wellness. For that reason we want to share all of our up to date expertise in creating an effective tailored treatment plan based on your needs.

Our space is fully equipped with the latest innovative therapeutic machines, strength and rehabilitation equipment. Together with our physiotherapy methods and techniques we aim to optimise your health and wellbeing and reach your highest abilities as quickly as possible. We only aim for the very best outcomes for everyone coming through our doors and therefore finding out the root cause of your pain and not just treating symptoms, is our priority when setting your treatment plan. Our best results have been seen by a combination of an effective personalised treatment plan and the engagement of the patient during and in between treatment sessions.

  • Our physiotherapy centre was named after a famous Greek poem ‘Ithaka’ written by C.Kavafis in which it goes on to explain that no matter how far your destination or how long it takes to get there, the most important part is the journey. We are proud to have named it after this as our values stand with the meaning. We want to assure you that when you come into our centre, we will be by your side every step of your journey to reach your final goals. Whether it is for rehabilitation, maintenance or prevention, we all have goals to reach our highest capabilities and we are here to help you achieve that.

  • BSc (Hons), MSc, MCSP, HCPC (UK)

    Senior Physiotherapist, Clinic Director

Julia’s interest in the human body and how it works started from a young age after sustaining a serious ankle injury during her athletics training. She educated herself around the injury and completed many physiotherapy sessions which led to her full recovery. This inspired her to go down the path of human anatomy and physiology. Julia graduated with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science in 2015 at Sheffield Hallam University and then went on to complete an MSc (pre-registration) in Physiotherapy at Kings College London in 2017. She carried out most of her placements in London, practising at some of the most renowned hospitals in the UK, some including Guy’s Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and The Royal London Hospital.

After carrying out her practise in different hospitals in the UK and the private sector, Julia returned to Sheffield to join the NHS at the Northern General Hospital. She then went on to enhance her abilities in the private sector and the professional sport sector. This is where she worked for the Development Team and the Girls Teams at Sheffield United Women’s FC.

Due to the variety of areas Julia has worked in, she is ready to offer her expert services and a variety of techniques to all types of needs whether that’s preparing or recovering from a competition or surgery, acute or chronic conditions or simply wanting to improve movement through exercise in order to maximise wellbeing and improve body function.
